(GPU is OC'd in MSI Afterburner to +100 Core Clock, and +1100 Memory Clock) I've run malware scans, I've closed every program, I've restarted more times than I can count, I updated my bios and all my drivers are up to date, and CPU temps and clock are as they should be/always have been. Hey, so as the title suggests, for the last 32 hours-ish, my CPU has been running at 100% usage, no matter what I do. I set Minimum Processor State in power plan settings to 5% which seems to have fixed things for now. Restarting WMI Host no longer temporarily fixes the CPU usage problem. I am now under the impression that the issue is Windows Management Instrumentation, but I don't really know where to go from there. However, every time I restart my PC, the problem arises again. I entered system config and restarted this, and it fixed my issue. I noticed a reoccurring program that would show up as using a lot of resources was the WMI Provider Host. Thanks for the help guys! :) Also, in addition to solving this problem, I actually improved overall performance on my PC because it forced me to have a look at all the software I have installed and running all the time that I never use while I was trying to figure out what was wrong 😂
I set mine to 5%, but whatever works for you. The solution was to lower the Minimum Processor State in Power Plan settings.
